it was fathers day Sunday:) so fam was together..and as always with us we talk about a lot of stuff:) my nice and nephew are getting older to the point of sex...but heres my prob..sis gave her son and his friend condoms:) not that there having sex...but for them to understand how they work:) im all for someone to use them alone first:) we have to get used to things:) (side note: she gave them xxl ones:p she didn't know they come in different sizes:()

at this point im a bit unshur..should i tell them what i think and know?

Should you tell who what? I'm not seeing a problem at all here.

B.

Honestly.. it all depends on the relationship you share with them.. when I was a child, believe me, I dreaded any adults telling me about the birds and the bees. Especially when I knew more about it than they, not to mention if they were uncomfortable talking about it.

However, it is always better when a responsible member of the family does it than some complete stranger or some random weird kid at school.

Explain to them about the physical changes and let them know that if they have any embarrassing questions to don't feel uncomfortable asking you or your sister. But like I said.. it all depends on the relationship you share with them

Tread lightly, as parents should be the ones to impart this knowledge. If your sister gives you the go ahead to talk one-on-one with the lads, then share what you have for them. Otherwise, I'd be wary and silent.

My family is very old fashioned. No one ever mentions sex, or private parts
or anything like that.
If it ever happened in my family, which it wouldn't, I'd just walk away.
Wouldn't be able to say anything.

I agree with hawtsean. Unless the kids come to you and ask themselves (I know, fat chance of that happening), respect the role of the parents.

Which means that the person you should talk to is your sister. Talk to her about things you think that they may need to know. Offer to talk to the kids, if you want - but leave the decision to sis.

True, most kids steer far away from most adults on questions of sex and other intimate issues. However, just BEING there might present an encouragement for them to approach you. I've had a bit of experience in that area, and the hardest thing was to keep my mouth shut -even when the advice I wanted to impart was good, right on time and very much needed. I won't get into specifics, since that would involve discussing underage males. However, the basics were that I did not display shock, awe or incredulousness when approached by several young persons and asked (out of the blue) if such-and-such was an okay thing to do, or if this-and-that was really safe sex, etc. etc. I had already been given parental go-aheads from the families involved to answer questions if posed. The shock for me was how uninformed young people can be, yet how experimental and outward. Being helpful and not critical won their respect and trust.

Being open, accepting (not just tolerating), and available (with the understanding that parental approval for giving the advice is there), are the keys to any person older than the kids involved being of help to them.
