Consider this one the topic for next week (told you guys I would more than likely be doing this on a weekly basis. LOL) This will probably be one of the more "controversial" topics I've touched on, but as a human being as well as someone who dreams of being a writer someday, it's something I have to get used to. I hope you can all touch on this one with an open mind.
So, I'm more than sure that a lot of you have heard this story by now. If not, here's a cliffnotes version.
Porn star Mason Wyler (there are more than a few videos of him on the Forum) sent a bit of a shockwave when he posted on his blog a report of him being raped. The story goes a bit like this: Mason, who is in an open relationship, decided to have a hook-up with a random guy. However, things quickly sprialed out of control and Mason ended up badly beaten and raped.
As quickly as the story hit, the whispers (and loud yells) of "liar" followed not so long after... until Mason posted pictures of his injuries on his blog and the police report (including Mason's real name) of the attack were leaked to the general public. If no one believed it before that point, there was certainly no doubting it after that.
However, the next chain of events are what make this so shocking: Mason went right back to work, filming more scenes; even recently expressing that he wants to do bareback porn for European porn hung dudes on his blog and creating an official website where people could grab even more of his videos.
As someone who personally has been molested and been sexually mistreated as a youth (it's OK for me to say that... I made peace with it long ago), it's a bit difficult to have compassion for someone who so quickly seemed ready to jump back into the game after such a horrible experience. Of course, I understand that we all deal with grief, pain and bad experiences differently, but this one takes the cake above all of that. It took me a number of years to realize just how much my troubled past had affected me and it took even longer to make that peace with it.
No one deserves to have those actions happen to them, but the question at hand is: is it hard to have any sort of compassion for someone like that? To those who knew the story beforehand (and to those who have just read it here), is it hard for you to download and view his scenes after knowing what happened to him?
Feel free to share your thoughts here.
Hugs,
Jonny Fantastico
