Robin Roberts Has Come Out.

So Robin Roberts just came out of the closet. She's part of the Good Morning America crew on ABC.

I've watched her on the news program for quite some time now and although I like her a lot, I've always sensed that she was gay. I remember years ago while visiting my mom in the hospital and GMA was on the TV and my mom had mentioned then that she believed she was a lesbian. Therefore, I'm sure this news is not that shocking for a lot of people. Nonetheless, as I've mentioned, I like her a lot and so ...congratulations to her for coming out publicly.

Both Anderson Cooper and her waited a loooooooonnnggg time to come out--much longer then was by any means necessary, and yes, after most people already knew. It's good they finally joined the club, but I think teens are more inspired by people they find relatable or could look up to--not wealthy tv news personalities in their late 50's who stayed in the closet for most of their lives.

You really judge people a lot dude but here you can back the fuck off! Both AC and RR spent their entire careers building their credibility in the very tough, insanely competitive career field of journalism.
Their job (and mine on a local level for 20+ years) is to TELL a story not BE the story. The fact they didn't "COME OUT" first as an inspiration to kids is stupid on your part. The fact they're doing it now in this climate is the triumph...thats their legacy.
