I absolutely agree! Well Maria Callas who sings this aria had a time when her voice was just so warm and lyrical and this recording seems to be from this time. When she was older she unfortunately had a more colder voice and it all sounded kinda sharp BUT not here and this is so beautiful!

Aww, when I heard this aria, I had just goosebumps overall and "Andrea Chénier" where this piece is from, is definitely one of the most wonderful operas, of course with a tragic end but this aria is just so beautiful:heart:

Weeping out of sheer musical beauty!

I´ll make a few postings with music, that makes me weep out of the sheer beauty. My tears are shed because of the musics intense beauty.

To make my first choice is very simple, almost self-evident - a few minutes of the most intensly beautiful and moving music ever composed - the finale from the 4th act from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart´s Le nozze di Figaro.

And when it´s sung by Dame Kiri Te Kanawa and Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau... well, it doesn´t get much better than this !

Henry Purcell: Dido & Aeneas - Elegy of Dido - Jessye Norman



This is one of the most emotional and beautiful opera arias and I am very delighted to share this piece of Henry Purcell's opera "Dido & Aeneas".

Jessye Norman sings this last aria of the opera, full of emotion, love and I think it is very difficult NOT to react in any emotional way while listening to this wonderful piece.
