I don't think there is anything particularly "wow-ish" about 15. 16 is fine too - it's all kinda random, isn't it? Obviously there has to be a threshold somewhere and in most countries (at least that I know of), the age of consent is between 13-18. I think both 13 and 18 are a bit extreme, but as with 15/16 there are perfectly good arguments and counter-arguments for both.

what age is ok?
this is a tricky subject...but at what age are you able to make your own choices?
I can join the army and go to war at 18...but i cant drink a beer:?
all governments make there own decisions, but what do you think?

This thread has drifted into a "what is the age of consent where you live", which was not the original intent.
Well at just over 17 I had a job and had left the family home to rent my own place, so I guess that comes under "making my own choices", but again I could have got married but not got into an" adult movie" nor gone to a pub/bar and bought an alcoholic drink.

Living proof that young people can accomplish good things.
I live in midwest USA, got my drivers license at age 15 (1975), was manager of a major electronics retail store at age 19, bought and paid for my first NEW car at age 19, co-owner of a retail-catalog store at age 23, also bought my first house at age 23, sold that house and my part of business at 26, moved and bought and PAID for second house. Have worked part time since, until I couldn't work and started disability at age 43.
(nothing contagious)
Oh, sex with someone? First time I was 30, he was 23.
Yeah, a late starter.
My opinion is that young people (15-16) should be made to be responsible for there lives and actions. And be able to have the legal rights adults have to screw up their lives if they want to. Too much tv games and not enough responsibility.
