Sunday lunch

lunchxnx.jpg

It was my turn for cooking the lunch today for the family. Here's my menu:
- beef noodle soup
- roasted whole chicken
- Slovenian ''fried'' potatoes
- red cabbage salad with apples

Call me crazy, but I love to cook. I think that home-cooked meal is not only nutritious but also it's a time when the family all gathered together in one spot and shared a meal and conversation about their life, their week, their plans and their dreams.

Later this afternoon I’ll make a crunchy caramel apple pie sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. Yummy and easy! My homemade apple pie is like a siren call to my father. All I have to do is pick up the phone and say ''pie'' to him and he's here in less time than it takes to clear a place at the table. :D

WOW!!! Looks very tasty! Can I come and be a guest, maybe if I promise to recite Friedrich Hölderlin's great long poem Brot und Wein ("Bread and wine")? Or would you prefer if I keep my fuckin' big mouth shut

In the US they talk about the Americanness of "Mum and Apple Pie"...

But in Slovenia it's more like "My son and his apple pie" :thumbs up:

In a lazy mood and really didn't feel like cooking...
So, it was a garden salad topped with walnuts and a raspberry vinaigrette dressing. :)

Sorry, not my taste! :blushing:

I would eat omega-3-rich fish, such as tuna, ever day...but...unfortunately, it isn't healthy to eat tuna everyday...for this reason , I eat only 3 cans a week :p

Haiducii you may truly be right. But you know as well: Tastes differ!
And believe me, I like fish on my table more than meat. I like so much gilthead or catfish and both with much garlic and sliced red pepperoni. Or I like also scampi or prawns or rock lobsters and too octopus - but sorry I can't stand tuna. Simply sorry! :blushing:

It seems you eat an amount of tuna just about the same size as my amount of pickled herring. I eat pickled herring with sourcream sauce + two hardboiled eggs + some orange or other citrus fruit for breakfast every day.

That's something what sounds really delicious. When I've read these few words about the pickled herring - really I was drooling. Hmmmmmmm - good! :thumbs up::thumbs up::thumbs up:

I used to give my man museli but that's too tree hugging liberal for these modern times.
So now he's going to get corn flakes again. Not just any corn flakes of course but Kelloggs Corn Flakes. He deserves the best so that's what he's going to get.

Why are Kelloggs the gay corn flakes?
Because they have always had a cock on the front of the packet.
