Westlife is the best band to listen to when you're in love with somebody.

I Beg Your Pardon - Kon Kan

And here is the 1988 Club Mix. 80's music is so much better overall.

The Cult of Ant & Dec

I forgot that I used to own this CD. I got reminded of it tonight when I found out that the stage hosts for Britians Got Talent are Ant & Dec.

Kavana

And though he looks young, he is 19 in this video. He was born in 1977 and (OMG he is 40!) and the song was released in 1996.

OMG I haven't heard this song since I was like 15. Can't believe it's still on YouTube.

Man, I'm finding all these bands that I thought I had lost their music from when I was like 15 an 16. I used to have a really good remix to Same Old Brand New You. I miss the days of Napster and WinMX.

One of the best Depeche Mode covers I've heard.

I can listen to this Westlife's 2006 cover [The Rose] for a hundred times without getting bored. Westlife. Still my favourite boy band. Ever. :p

Ah.. this song just kills me. It is so small and just... perfect. Bette Midler's recording in the film The Rose was the original and went to #1. But it was not written for the movie.

According to McBroom she wrote "The Rose" in response to her manager's suggestion that she write "some Bob Seger-type tunes" to expedite a record deal: McBroom obliged by writing "The Rose" in forty-five minutes. Said McBroom: "'The Rose' is ... just one verse [musically] repeated three times. When I finished it, I realized it doesn't have a bridge or a hook, but I couldn't think of anything to [add]."

If you've never listened to it carefully, it's worth the trouble. Although the lyrics at first glance might seem interchangeable - there is a subtle dramatic arc travelling from being wounded to healing.

The first verse acknowledges the inevitable pain of love. The second verse warns of the long-term cost of responding to that pain by shutting yourself away. And the third verse urges you to be vulnerable and open yourself up to the possibility of new love, even when it seems impossible.

It just leaves me in tears when the singer is able to take me along that road.
