Hey Guys,

I was walking through the shopping mall today and saw this in the window of a shop.

I had a Commorore 64 back in the day. It was my first computer. Even had the tape thing to load up the games.

Looking at this in the window. They are selling it. WOW so still worth money. I binned mine about 15 years ago.

Trying to think when I had the C64. Must have been around 1984 ish!

So what was your first computer then?

I think I got my first computer in about 1992 and that it was an Apple Macintosh with 40 MB hard disk. You could say I'm a bit of a Johnny-Come-Lately when it comes to computers...

C64, of course. ;-)

That "C64" in the first post is not an original one, it's an emulated one with preinstalled games. You don't see the ports at the backside (top on photo) so you can't connect devices like FDD, printer or something else.

My first computer was a lap top that a friend of mine gave me. I am guessing it was maybe 1996 or 97 - his work was giving him a new one so it may have been an early 90's model but I don't remember what the make or model was. I recall that the 56k dial up modem was torture to try to watch porn on though - but I tried my best anyway.

My first computer was a Radio Shack TRS-80. I couldn't afford the one with the single floppy disk drive, so I had to load and save programs to a cassette tape recorder. That must have been about 1980.

My second computer - and the first one that I could really make a living on - was the Kaypro II. It was one of the first "portable" computers. It was about as big and heavy as a sewing maching - but I could transport it between work and home. It ran CP/M so I had access to WordStar, dBase II, and several spreadsheet and accounting programs.

Very interesting for me to see here all these old gadgets. It's like a walk through a technological museum! What a great progress in these nearly 40 years!
