What's the last or current Movie you Watched ?

Scarecrow 1973.

A film that stays with you for the rest of your life.

Need I say more?
 
GIRLFIGHT - a movie from 2000.
From IMdB:
Diana, without her father knowing it, trains as a boxer and achieves impressive success, blazing new trails for female boxers.

Pretty good for an unfriendly, rainy evening. But nothing to remember. It's a plain alternative to MILLION DOLLAR BABY (which is more than better!)
But as I have said: for an unfriendly, rainy evening a good entertainment.
 
Promised Land (2012) -starring Matt Damon.

Directed by Gus van Sant.

This one is about fracking -an issue that made a lot of headlines around the time the film was made. The price of oil/gas plummeted, and the whole fracking debacle seems a thing of the past -at least temporarily. But of course the topic is still worthwhile.

While the movie did have some exceptional moments.... it ultimately felt a little flat, almost like it was emotionally two-dimensional. It's almost as if the actors all seem like they are in some dress rehersal and each scene and sequence only half-matters.

I'll emphasis again that there were some really exceptional moments -so by all means do watch it.

If anyone get's around to seeing it, or has seen it already and wants to disagree with me, please do.:)
 
Have just seen one of the best Film for a while, it's "Girl On The Train"
I did read the book, but the film's much better. Go See It !

The Wolverine (2013)

Hugh Jackman is quite a good actor and he performs well enough in this movie.

A good Marvel type movie, with inspiring special effects.

The main theme is quite philosophical, and emotionally heavy, and seems slightly off-putting or something, in what is essentially an (not so mindless) action movie.

One to watch if you're at all interested in Japanese culture.
 
LA ISLA MINIMA - engl. title: MARSHLAND a thriller from 2016 from Spain. It is remembering a little to the US-series TRUE DETECTIVE. Very exciting, very dark - very recommended!
