Castle of Nyon, a 12th century fortress on Lake Geneva, houses the Historical and Porcelain Museum
In 1463, it was completely rebuilt.

Built in the 13th century
In 1476 it was devastated by the Confederates, after the battle of Grandson and rebuilt after 1480.
Currently the castle is privately owned and has been converted into a hotel restaurant

Castle of Meggenhorn (Canton of Lucerne)
The castle already existed in 1240. It was transformed into a stately building in the 17th century.

It is one of the oldest Swiss castles.
The oldest parts of the castle are dated to the 11th century
Today the castle has become a museum

Castle of Bremgarten (Canton of Bern)
The first castle, already existed in the 11st century. It was rebuilt several times. Finally in the 16th century it was transformed into a Palace
In 1780 the rooms were turned into Baroque style
All land around the building was leveled, creating a magnificent Italian-style garden and a park in English style

Castle of Bottmingen (Canton of Basel)
The castle was built in the 13th century. It is one of the few castles surrounded by a moat still full of water.
In 1720 circa the building has been transformed into a sumptuous Baroque French style country residence
