I know there are different versions but I've ordered some to try. Has anyone tried one ?

I've decided I'm going to give it a go! It will keep my habit, which is really the most addictive part of smoking, for me anyway, but it will be cheaper in the long run, probably ! Health is secondary )

Please don't fill this thread with anti-smoking propoganda, all us smokers know it all off by heart!

I have stopped before by literally stopping, but it takes a certain mind-set that I don't have at the moment, so I'm giving this a try.

Just curious if anyone has had experience trying electronic cigarettes.

I stopped smoking after 35-40 years on April 4th this year. I just stopped. But I haven´t got the faintest clue what´s an "E-Cigarrett"??? :?:thinking::?

i tried one for about a week, but then returned to the real thing. the different taste is not my thing and i hated the fancy flawors like apple and melon and such

I wish you the best of luck! I've never smoked before, so I don't know if it'll be difficult to quit, but if there's a will, there's a way.

A couple of friends of mine wanted to try it, for a while they smoked only the e-cigarette but then they went back to the old habit.

Being a smoker myself I tried it one time but I hadn't the same feeling I have smoking the real one. That was enough to discourage me.

I know people who have gone back to the real thing too, but also know ( a far lesser number) some who prefer them.

It's no loss, had a small win recently which has paid for it anyway , so I won't be out of pocket if I really hate them

Well, the whole concept of an E-cigarette sounds weird to me, but hey, if it helps a small number of people get off the tobacco and nicotine, morepower toit.

After my saying I hand't heard of them, I now recall a news item sometime ago about one that exploded - I guess it was the batteries that exploded - taking out half the person's tongue along with it. Not wanting to put you off, you understand - but just make sure to choose a reputable brand.

The battery probably over-heated. The ones I've got have a cut-off limit. I know to a completely non-smoker they seem strange, but I enjoy smoking so trying something that is less harmful and less expensive is worth a go.

My first impression (they arrived today) is I like them. It's not a cheap one you buy in a corner shop, I've heard they're not very good, but these are amazingly quite satisfying.

I'll see how it goes this weekend.

I think e-cigarettes are shit. Good substitute is "skruf" - Swedish chewing tabaco.

Not the same as smoking, it's the act of it I enjoy I hate chewing anyway, and chewing tobacco is actually more dangerous than cigarettes!

I have tried it and it's not bad. Danger ... it doesn't destroy lungs and blood circulation system. Maybe here is some danger about mouth and throad but its with cigarettes too.
