how long before we can bump a request?

i know the rules say to be patient but if your request has already been there for like several months and at page 6 or something...is it still not okay to bump your request?
is there a time limit before you can bump?

Just ask again , bumping for no good reason is severely frowned on

I can understand it in a request as there will be newer members who probably didn't see the original post but just request again if it's been that long

as in make a new thread about the same subject? that seems silly to me
seeing as how this is the suggestions forum, i think there should be a new rule like...you can only bump if theres been no reply for X months or whatever.

Well if it's been many months and no reply then I see no problem bumping it with another message asking again - but don't make it too much of a habit
