Oh yes, McMurtry adapted Annie Proulx short story "Brokeback Mountain" into a screenplay for the movie "Brokeback Mountain". May he rest in peace.

HRH Prince Philip, The Duke Of Edinburgh (1921)

Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth II's husband, has died aged 99, Buckingham Palace has announced.

Prince Philip was born on the Greek island of Corfu on 10 June 1921. His father was Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark, a younger son of King George I of the Hellenes. His mother, Princess Alice, was a daughter of Lord Louis Mountbatten and a great-granddaughter of Queen Victoria.

The Prince married Princess Elizabeth in 1947, five years before she became Queen, and was the longest-serving royal consort in British history, with their marriage lasting for 73 years. Before the official announcement of their engagement in July 1947, he abandoned his Greek and Danish titles and styles, became a naturalised British subject, and adopted his maternal grandparents' surname Mountbatten.

Anne BEATTS (1947)
US Comedy Writer

Beatts began her career writing at the National Lampoon, and then went onto write for the original cast of Saturday Night Live, for which she was nominated for 5 Emmys (winning once). Some of Anne's most famous recurring sketches were the creepy babysitter Uncle Roy (played by Buck Henry) and the Nerds — snivelly Lisa Loopner (Gilda Radner) and snotty Todd DiLaMuca (Bill Murray). She then went on to create the series Square Pegs starring Sarah Jessica Parker.
