In 1939, Lina Medina from Ticrapo (Peru) gave birth to a healthy, 6-pound son. She is the youngest documented mother in human history, giving birth at the age of five. Today, Lina still lives with her husband Raul Jurado in a poor area of Lima, Peru. Their living son lives in Mexico.

In 1961, Amnesty International (AI) was founded by British lawyer Peter Benenson. He became angry after reading a newspaper report about two Portuguese students who had been sentenced to seven years in prison. To draw public attention to the fate of political prisoners, Benenson and several other activists organized a one-year campaign. They called it "Appeal for Amnesty, 1961". The campaign was launched in a newspaper article printed internationally on May 28 1961. The article "The Forgotten Prisoners" called on people everywhere to protest - impartially and peacefully - the imprisonment of men and women around the world for their political and religious beliefs. Today, Amnesty International has grown into a worldwide human rights movement with over a million members in over 150 countries and territories.

JH Kellogg was one of the big american anti-masturbation and circumciscion prophets in the nineteenth century. His great (but oh-so-stupid) idea was, that boys shouldn't have protein and fat for breakfast (eggs, bacon etc), but cereals, since boys don't feel an urge to wank on a cereal diet.:p

In 1904, the American freestyle swimmer and actor Johnny Weissmuller is born. He is best known for playing Tarzan in twelve motion pictures...

BTW, many documents mentioned that the family was of Hungarian nationality. Things are very clear in this respect. His parents (Peter W. & Elisabeth K.) were Banat Swabian's, who did not even speak the Hungarian language.

Yes, Weissmuller doesn't sound very hungarian at all.

Swabians btw. are very canny and like to build houses (Häus'le baue).
