What makes you sad today?

I went shopping this morning and there was bloody Christmas bloody music in the bloody super-bloody-market

And if you will go to the same shop in January you will find Easter eggs - believe me!

I got a letter from HMRC (His Majesty's Revenue and Customs) with my income tax code for next year but I spotted there was a mistake. So I hit the 'phone - 35 minutes of music and a very much repeated "Your call is very important to us and one of our advisors will be with you as soon as possible..." then when I eventually got through I was told " Oh I need to transfer you to another department who will be able to help you" 5 more minutes of music & messages before I got to talk to someone who, having looked at my files told me I would have to talk to my bank to get the correct data. Another 25 mins on the phone to the bank explaining they had made a mistake and would they look into it and sort it out please.

I have an appointment at the bank.......

It sounds as if you would speak about a German authority. But surely it is the problem with the authorities world-wide!

It is not from today, but today is the day I think I can speak about it.
During the "out-time" of GH my loyal companion since 13 years, my beloved BUDDY has decided to start his last
journey into the dog's heaven. You may laugh and say: what? It's only a dog. Well, perhaps for you but not for me!
He was always with me as well in my office - his dog bed there and in our house is empty, and my heart is full of pain!

I've lost a few dogs over the decades Shelter. It is truly painful.
Over time, you can remember him with fondness. Thirteen years is a good lifetime for a dog.
And I'm sure you made them good years for him.

I've never had a dog because of travelling for work and being away from home for long periods but I can still understand the very deep bond that develops and from your past posts I know how strong your bond with your BUDDY was. I am sure you have many many fond memories to cherish which should help you get through these painful days.

Dear Shelter, this is heartbreaking news. Many times you have spoken of your love for your magnificent dog. He was part of your life, you must miss him so much. When I lost my cat the crushing feeling in my soul was agony. The only thing that made it bearable was knowing that she was happy in the too short time we were together. Jim is right, memories of the good times will be what keeps you going.

Thank you all for your kind words. I know: it was "only" a dog -- but it was MY dog, MY friend, MY companion!
And yes I will have many wonderful memories of him. But at the moment for me and my love the house is empty.
