The Space Between Us

I thought this was an awesome movie. Asa is a tremendous actor, he really looked like he'd never seen a horse before.

[SPOILERS BELOW]

But OK, so he escapes Kennedy Space Center and takes a bus to Colorado? And I'm supposed to believe that the two chasing him caught up to him in that little puddle jumper of a helicopter? Since a bus is going to make a zillion stops along the way, I'm surprised that they weren't ahead of Gardner and waiting for him at the house that they knew he was going to.

How far away did they have to park the copter and drive to the house? When the plane crashed did you catch how long it took them to reach the site? And how did the other guy get there so fast? I know he wasn't stowed away on the copter.

How about when the realized that Gardner was heading for his mothers house on the California coast? Why not call his uncle and give him a heads up that Gardner's on the way.

And there just happened to be one of those rocket planes close enough by to get to before Gardner dies? I can imagine that there would only be a couple of them. And it would have taken hours to get to a military base in California from where they were. They don't say where they went, but the only one that I can think of would have been Edwards AFB. They don't really say where the house is either, but just saying it was in Oceanside, that's a three hour drive, maybe cut that to two since they were in an ambulance.

Yea, I know I'm nit picking, but hey, it was a good movie that could have been a little more believable.

If Beale Street Could Talk (2018)

Regina King is no stranger to powerful performances, but her role as Sharon Rivers in If Beale Street Could Talk has been especially noteworthy throughout the 2019 award season. Not only has it earned her a Golden Globe award, but also an Oscar!

King plays the mother of a pregnant young woman whose future is ruined when her boyfriend is imprisoned for a crime he did not commit.

The genius of writer-director Barry Jenkins’s adaptation of James Baldwin’s 1970s novel is a heart-stopping cinematic love story, which is beautifully told, gorgeously shot and heart breakingly realistic. Grandly recommended!

I'm not a big fan of American replicas of European movies - mostly the original is much more better.

But now we have watched THE UPSIDE a replica of the magnificent French movie INTOUCHABLES. But this time I must say - it was great! Bryan Cranston and Kevin Hart really in top form! Honestly a MUST SEE! Very recommended.

Just watched "Vice" on DVD. True life political horror and still crisp in the memory, already looking quaint since it was destined to get worse.
