Agree, it's not a mainstream pop song. The song reminds me of the 80's Eurovision. It has a lovely "vintage" and happy vibe. It will be interesting to see how the voters and juries react to this :thinking:

Eurovision 2021 kicks off with first semi-final

I'm honestly struggling to remember if there has been another semi-final which had such bad vocals (Ireland, Cyprus, Norway, Romania) from so many singers before. :thinking: Thankfully there were also a million voices on the playback, otherwise that would've been a disaster.

Eurovision Song Contest 2021, First Semi-Final Qualifiers:

Azerbaijan / Efendi - Mata Hari: song reminded me of a broken record, it's the same two words for 70% of the song (someone's comment on Redd1t)

Belgium / Hooverphonic - The Wrong Place: they decided to risk and it worked for them.

Cyprus / Elena Tsagrinou - El Diablo: it's a mash up of two or three Lady Gaga songs

Israel / Eden Alene - Set Me Free: (as usual) highly overrated

Lithuania / The Roop - Discoteque: can see this winning the televote

Malta / Destiny - Je Me Casse: can someone explain to me why Malta is a big contender for winning?

Norway / TIX - Fallen Angel: people love cheesy shit

Russia / Manizha - Russian Woman: most experimental Russian entry ever!

Sweden / Tusse - Voices: the weakest entry Sweden has sent for some time

Ukraine / Go_A - Shum: this song will clearly do well with the juries

I could complain about some of my faves not making it through, but overall I'm just so happy that EUROVISION IS BACK!

Happy Eurovision week !!

I think most of the qualifiers deserved their ticket to the final. I'd rather have seen Australia & N.Macedonia through, instead of Russia & Sweden.
The Swedish song is ok, but I still think The Mamas shoulda been asked back and I'd even enjoy 'Voices' more if it was performed by them.

The Russian song was performed and staged well so I'm not that peeved, it's just not my cup of tea.

Lithuania was my favourite, and a great opener to the show. And he had tears in his eyes when he qualified. Awww. :heart:

I believe that every year, the Eurovision Grand Final day should be a public holiday in Europe, it’s a day of music, joy and celebrating life! :thinking:

Second Semi-Final of Rotterdam 2021

Eurovision Song Contest 2021, Second Semi-Final Qualifiers:

Was the second semi-final so much weaker than Tuesday or is it just me? :thinking: Nothing that blew me away (except Finland of course).

San Marino / Senhit - Adrenalina: Is your eyesight worsening? NO! American rapper Flo Rida is representing San Marino. Nothing weird.

Greece / Stefania - Last Dance: Her song was about dancing and she moved worse than me.

Moldova / Natalia Gordienko - SUGAR: She sounds VERY off! Is Europe deaf?

Iceland / Da∂i Freyr og Gagnamagni∂ - 10 Years: He sounds like a lonely guy in an empty karaoke bar at 3am.

Serbia / Hurricane - Loco Loco: We've all seen that before. Way too many times.

Albania / Anxhela Peristeri - Karma: Another overdramatic song from Albania.

Portugal / The Black Mamba - Love Is On My Side: Portugal was the Belgium of this semifinal.

Bulgaria / Victoria - Growing Up is Getting Old: Beautiful staging and a cute song.

Finland / Blind Channel - Dark Side: Helsinkin Park is in, nice. We need more rock in ESC!

Switzerland / Gjon's Tears - Tout l'Univers: Don't like it but it deserves to make the final.

I'm sad because of Denmark didn't qualify to the Final. They took me back to my childhood in the 80's. If you play this and your foot doesn't start tapping, you're clinically dead.
