MITCHELL AND WEBB ARE NOT HELPING (2025)

This is a new sketch show from David Mitchell & Robert Webb on C4 here in the UK and there is a big problem with it.... about 80% of it is just not funny. It is liberally sprinkled with very foul language, one sketch that has episodes in every show is "Sweary Aussie Drama" where everyone just swears There is even one sketch where the "C" word is regularly repeated. Some of it is very funny, but there isn't enough of the funny stuff.

EXCELLENT drama from N3tflix. The trailer might give you the impression that it is a camp, comedic show and yes it is about a gay character and in places it's very funny but it is much more than that. There are dark themes running through it too. It has a really great script as well as a great cast, production values and soundtrack.

I binge watched all 8 episodes over 2 night. Recommended - DO NOT MISS

Wow, yes - just we have completed this show in one go! We couldn't stop! You are so right - some dark themes running through it.
And perhaps 2 or 3 episodes more would have helped to a more development of the one or the other person.
Nevertheless, it's a fantastic show and highly recommended!

SLOW HORSES - Season 5 (2025)

I had planned to watch these over the Xmas/New Year but never got around to them but started last night. I was only going to watch 2 episodes but got so gripped with it that I had to stay up and watch Ep. 3. This season grabs you from the very beginning, as you can see from the clip, which Ep.1 - before the opening credits. Pretty certain I shall be watching the rest tonight.

Everything I love about this show is still here - the intrigue; the action; the way the plot keeps you guessing and the dark sardonic dialogue - particularly from the excellent Gary Oldman.

Set against the backdrop of the 2017 same-sex marriage plebiscite, INVISIBLE BOYS explores the challenges faced by a group of gay teens in the remote coastal town of Geraldton, Western Australia, after one of them is outed on social media following an encounter with a married man. THE NIGHT MANAGER (2026) Season 2 .. no trailer as even I don't want to see any plot spoilers.

Working my way through Season 2. I thought the 1st 2 episodes a bit slow and the plot a little unbelievable but Ep.3 was much better and has also dropped a cliff-hangar ending and so I think the tension might ramp up ... we will see.

THE NIGHT MANAGER (2026) Season 2 .. no trailer, no spoilers.

As the final episode dropped today I waited and binge watched the last 3. It did ramp things up but (as with the first 3 episodes) I thought maybe 10 mins could have been cropped out to keep the pacing better. Overall I didn't enjoy this as much as I did the first season.
