Wow brmstn69 I really was totally misunderstood by yourself. With no words I would say something abusive about Tom Hanks and his art of acting because he is my HERO - I like all of his movies. Please take it as an error because of the language barrier. What I wanted to say is: he acted so quiet so unagitated and didn't come to the fore. Perhaps is the word "restrained" the better one than "redeemed".
I hope so much you and all the others will have understood now what I wanted to say.
